This urn I made from a piece of curly and diverse Olive wood with a lot of voids and cracks. It is quite hard to buy olive wood in large pieces. Often it is sold in blanks. Now I have 20 pieces in stock to create beautiful pieces from. All these pieces are rough so they will show amazing figuring. But it is also a great challenge to keep the wood together while turning as there are sometimes more voids than wood. But I love the challenge. I have inlayed the voids with purple minerals. On top I have put an amazing large piece of Amethyst. A bright and shiny piece as a result. The base of the lid is made of olive. \u003cbr\u003e\nThe urn is finished with high gloss lacquer.
