Shopping for an urn is not what you want to do. My mission is to make this process a little bit easier, creating pieces that breath beauty, bringing some light in dark times. My urns are not about death, but about celebrating the life of someone who meant a lot in someone’s life.

Black Locust Burl is my favorite wood, because it is a beautiful metafor for life. This one of a kind piece carries its own story, just like the loved one you commemorate. The tree has been through some rough times. Resulting in beautiful figuring and voids in the wood. These scars give me the perfect opportunity to add more beauty to this piece. As I am a lover of nature I do love gemstones as well. Combining wood with stone is a perfect symbiosis of nature to me. This urn is made of an extremely large Burl. First I wanted to create two urn out of it, but I had the feeling that one urn out of this Burl would result in an amazing urn, and I was right. I am so thrilled with this piece, this burl has such an amazing figuring. If you are a wood turner you will surely agree that nature shows all the good of this kind of Burl. The wood is dark bronze, it has a golden glow.

The inlayed voids in this urn are natural, I never add voids to the wood. If you look closely at the lines in the wood you can see it. There were small subtle voids, which I inlayed with Belgian Blackstone and gold. I have put a beautiful piece of double sided Pyrite on this urn that matches with the inlay, like a heart shaped crown on top. In real the Pyrite is more yellow and matches perfectly with the gold inlay. It is a statement of beauty and pure nature. I am very thankful for this tribute to the life of someone who loved nature.

The urn is finished with high gloss lacquer. You can clean it with a damp or dry cloth. The ring in the opening is made of Walnut. The base of the lid of the urn is made of Black Locust Burl as well.
The wood is reclaimed from near my shop. Please keep it out of direct sunlight, don’t place it near a heating source.

Other countries might be included as well, please ask for it. DHL only ships to a normal address, P.O. boxes are not allowed.
