Handmade Dutch Elm Wood Urn with Cactus Amethyst Lid (140 c.i.)

This cremation urn is made from a Dutch Elm. This tree has a very curly figure. This means that the wood grain is very swirly with lots of color variation. I bought this tree on a special auction in The Netherlands. Once a year they sell special trees from the Dutch woods. This one was very popular, but I managed to buy it. I was very happy with this tree, because of its special figuring.

On top I have put a Cactus Amethyst cluster.
A perfect tribute for the life of someone who loved nature.

The ring in the opening is made of rosewood. The base of the lid is also made of Dutch Elm.
After sanding up to 800 grid the urn is finished with high gloss acrylic lacquer. All the wood I use for my work is reclaimed from near my shop, resulting in a very sustainable piece of art. Please keep it out of direct sunlight, don't place it near a heating source. You can clean it with a damp or dry cloth.
