Shopping for an urn is not what you want to do. My mission is to make this process a little bit easier, creating pieces that breath beauty, bringing some light in dark times. My urns are not about death, but about celebrating the life of someone who meant a lot in someones life.
Black Locust Burl is my favorite wood, because it is a beautiful metafor for life. This one of a kind piece carries its own story, just like the loved one you commemorate. The tree has been through some rough times. Resulting in beautiful figuring and voids in the wood. These scars give me the perfect opportunity to add more beauty to this piece. As I am a lover of nature I do love gemstones as well. Combining wood with stone is a perfect symbiosis of nature to me. There were several voids to be inlayed. The inlayed voids in this urn are natural, I never add voids to the wood. If you look closely at the lines in the wood you can see it.
I decided to inlay the voids with purple minerals. For the lid I used a stunning piece of bookmatched Black Locust Burl. In this bookmatched piece I saw a butterfly hiding. I liberated this beautiful butterfly and it now sits proud on top of the urn. A unique piece to celebrate the life of your loved one.
The urn is finished with high gloss lacquer. You can clean it with a damp or dry cloth. The ring in the opening and the base of the lid are made of Laburnum.
The wood is reclaimed from near my shop. Please keep it out of direct sunlight, don’t place it near a heating source.

About import tax: for US customers all import duties, tariffs and custom fees are included in the price. No additional charges will be due upon delivery. For customer in other countries: I use a product code that is free of charge, but customs can decide to change it. My experience is now that it is normally free of charge. DHL has its own customs and collect import tax for your government. You will receive an email from DHL for payment in case you need to pay.
