Handmade Laburnum Cremation Urn, Blue Mineral Inlay (270 c.i.)

Making beautiful urns is my passion and I am always looking for truely remarkable wood. This urn is made from a beautiful piece of laburnum. This tree normally doesn’t grow very big, but this one was an exception. This urn is made from the branch split, so you see two centers in the urn, like two trees being together. Isn’t that a beautiful metaphor for someone you have been so close too? A big part from the wood fell out. It resulted in a large void. But I managed to keep the wood together and it is now like an ocean of blue on one side.

A truly unique piece for someone who loves life and the treasures of nature.

And for some technical details:
After sanding up to 800 grid the urn is finished with high gloss clear acrylic laquer.
All the wood I use for my work is reclaimed from near my shop. Please keep it out of direct sunlight, don’t place it near a heating source. You can clean it with a damp cloth.
